***TERMINATED*** : Coffin@Art Basel 2011: Creative Contribution by Frances Belser
Frances Belser created two quotes. One of those could be wrote on the coffin if you so wish.
This poll ends on 15 June 2011.
Let's Bury the Jumbo Boeing 747!
I see your point.
I hope we can spread happiness with the BTJ performances. I hope we can make the people rethinking. A funeral is an end but a start of something new, too. And we want to celebrate a new start in a world without "Jumbo", you know. We don't cry for the Jumbo, we are happy for what's coming next.
like phoenix from the ashes.
my point of view.
Exactly, it's about the end of something and the beginning of something new.
For me these two quotes have a taste of this all time party society, instead of the fall and rise of a monument. They don't make me rethink, they make me think "OMG, this party people again!" (Even though I'm a party guy, too.)
Of course what I associate with isn't decisive.
I'd say, my suggested quote brings people more to rethink, since before the Rise from the Ashes, it first has to end in the ashes. That's what you've pointed out as well.
It's a play on words.
Spreading happiness can be done with other things than pointing out "celebrating" or "feiern".
Yes, this is well combined.
Unfortunately we have a lack of time to create another poll. And the Community has decided to place Frances' quote.
You, Götterbote, always provides good input. As a reward of your support, I am working to ensure that your proposal will be implemented.

I think, celebrating/partying is the wrong association with a coffin for a jumbo. It's not all about party, isn't it?
How about "Like Phoenix to the ashes" instead?
